My work is about corporeality and how modern society is alienated from itself and the human body. I only work around the representation of the body; not what we see on the catwalk but the images of the human body we see in the media. It seems that we have no idea anymore what a real body looks like because the advertising and fashion industry are always manipulating them into the bony people we see in their campaigns. These ‘fake bodies’ cause that we look at the body in a different way. Society compares itself to unrealistic images of the human body. What I try to do in my images is – this time knowingly - alienate the spectators from the images of the human body. In order to make them look in more aware way at bodies in the future.
